As part of its commitment to give back to community, the Colorado Chorale will donate one tenth of its proceeds from ticket sales to two local charities that work with the homeless.
Each family arrives at Family Promise of Greater Denver in crisis. Aside from food, there is no need that is as basic as shelter. It represents so much to us – not just protection from the cold and heat, but safety, comfort, family, happy memories and identity.
Family Promise of Greater Denver began serving families experiencing homelessness in 1997. Since then, we’ve assisted more than 1,300 families, including 2,000 children . We are a part of a national network of over 200 affiliates that partner with faith communities to provide shelter, meals, and hospitality for families. More recently we have expanded & developed new programs to work with families on a greater spectrum to allow all families to succeed.
In 2017, we touched the lives of 99 families & hope to help over 200 families in 2018. We meet families where they are at and provide the resources & tools to allow them to succeed. Through these services and your support, we truly are ending homelessness, one family at a time.
Samaritan House in downtown Denver provides shelter, food and clothing services. The program works to break the cycle of homelessness and restore hope and dignity through case management, life skills and employment classes, and community resources and referrals. Five programs are strategically located under one roof: Client Services, Family Services, Veteran Services, Respite Services, and Women’s Emergency Overnight Services. In 2017, Samaritan House provided 153,263 nights of shelter for Denver homeless, and 87% of single residents at Samaritan House left with income after 30 days.
