Some 200 voices will take the stage at Horizon High School in Thornton when the Colorado Chorale joins with three high school choirs in the Adams 12 school district March 21.  Our choral fest, made possible by a grant from Adams County SCFD, will feature select choirs from Horizon, Legacy and Mountain Range High Schools.  They will be under the direction of Adams 12 choral conductors Jay Goodmanson, Karen Stacks, and Heather Shenck.  The concert is free.

Each choir will perform a short program and will combine with the Colorado Chorale for performances of Eric Whitacre’s Seal Lullaby as well as Keith Hampton’s gospel arrangement of Praise His Holy Name.

The event is part of Colorado Chorale’s Music for Life program,  which targets young enthusiastic singers with the aim of providing them an engaging and rewarding musical experience while teaching them that choral singing doesn’t have to end with high school graduation.

The Chorale is particularly grateful to Legacy High School’s Karen Stacks who has helped us conceive and create this special evening.  The Chorale also thanks Horizon High School for hosting the event.  This event would not have been possible without a grant from Adams County’s Scientific Cultural Facilities District.
