Colorado Chorale Hosts Event at Mercury Cafe

Denver, CO — In an effort to “to make the world a little bit better by singing and drinking together,*” the Colorado Chorale will put aside classical music for an evening of brews, fun and an audience sing along.

“You don’t have to be a professional singer to make music,” notes Chorale director Kevin Padworski. “We want to encourage more people to sing by moving from the concert hall to the beer hall … or in this case, the Mercury Café.”

The beer choir concert is free (donations accepted), beer and food will be for sale at the concert. As part of its community outreach, a portion of proceeds will be donated to Art from Ashes a local nonprofit that uses art to reach at risk youth.

The Colorado Chorale, now in its 49th season, is known for its innovative concerts, such as last October’s Sing the Celestial which combined astronomers’ ruminations on the universe with otherworldly choral music. It’s full season can be viewed here.
